All about calving and rearing calves
Fritz Göbel offers a range of aids for the birth and initial care of calves. The range includes, amongst other things, HK and Vink calving aids as well as lifting equipment for cows. The range is complemented by further accessories and aids for all aspects of calving.
Various feeding solutions are available for the subsequent care of calves. These include traditional calf feeding buckets as well as the 1-Click system and Calf Buddy feeders with capacities of 9, 20 or 50 litres. Milk bottles and teats, a calf milk warmer with infinitely variable thermostat control from 0 to 95 °C, and calf blankets in 70 and 80 cm sizes complete the range for rearing.
Hoof care and shearing for cattle
Regular cattle care includes both hoof care and shearing and coat care. For hoof and claw trimming, Fritz Göbel offers a range of tools and products designed for practical work on the animal.
For cattle shearing, Fritz Göbel offers its own cordless clipper, the GRT X-PRO. It achieves up to 2,500 double strokes per minute, features a 3-stage power control and has a battery life of up to 120 minutes. Various GRT cattle shearing blades and other accessories round off the range to meet a variety of shearing requirements.
For cattle, mains-powered, battery-powered, rechargeable or combined units may be suitable, depending on the location. If a 230 V mains supply is available, mains-powered units can be used; for mobile or remote pastures, off-mains solutions are suitable. The required power output depends in particular on the length of the fence, the vegetation and the design of the fencing system. Göbel also classifies suitable units by animal species – for example, the Herkules Junior JB 40 is specifically designed for cattle and other animal species.
Göbel offers plastic, fibreglass and metal posts for various fencing systems and ground conditions. The glass-fibre-reinforced Variant plastic post is specifically mentioned in the current catalogue as being suitable for permanent fencing in cattle and suckler cow farming. For hard ground, for example, angle iron posts are available.
Göbel stocks a range of drinking troughs and pasture drinking troughs for water supply. The range includes, for example, cast iron and plastic troughs, as well as float-controlled drinking troughs; pasture pumps are also part of the product range for water supply in pastures.
The range includes tools for hoof and claw care, as well as products for claw treatment and dressing materials. To relieve pressure on a treated hoof, for example, Göbel offers systems in which a wooden or rubber block is attached to the healthy hoof. The range also includes other solutions such as hoof care straps
Göbel stocks calving aids and calving equipment, as well as lifting equipment and respiratory aids. The range includes, amongst other things, calving aids for dairy cattle and equipment for helping cows to stand up. The practical use of such aids requires appropriate specialist knowledge.
For calf care, Göbel supplies, amongst other things, milk bottles and teats, calf drinkers, calf milk warmers and calf blankets. The range also includes collars, halters and tether ropes for calves.
Göbel supplies a range of products for different animals and applications, including cow and calf halters, collars for cows, calf collars, livestock tethering devices and tethering ropes. Cow halters, for example, are available with adjustable head and nose sections; for calves, there are dedicated, infinitely adjustable designs.
